Dana Rader

Training with Dana Rader you can be sure that you are training with one of the most qualified and talented professionals in the industry. Dana Rader is the sole director and owner operator of GYROTONIC® Melbourne, and Energy Kinetics®Studio and Energy Kinetics Instructor Training Pty Ltd.

Dana Rader is a Specialized International Master Trainer for both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS®. Her journey with these methods began in the 1980s in New York City, where she first became aware of their development. It was not until the 1990s, while living in Hong Kong, that she had the opportunity to experience the methods firsthand and begin her training. Dana had the privilege of studying directly with the founder, Juliu Horvath, and has continued her education with him over the past 26 years, as well as with many respected Master Trainers including Adrianna Thompson, Lisa Marie Goodwin, Sebastian Plettenberg, Debra Rose, Juergen Bamberger, Justine Bernard, Angela Crowley, and many others.

In 2002, Dana established the first studio in Australia to integrate Pilates and the GYROTONIC® method. She is recognized for introducing the GYROTONIC® method to Australia in 2000 and the GYROKINESIS® method in 2001. She became Australia’s first Specialized International Master Trainer in both methods, playing a significant role in educating and mentoring instructors throughout Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and internationally.

Dana continues to travel extensively, providing GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor training programs across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and Central America. She is a Specialized International Master Trainer for several GYROTONIC® specialized programs, including the GYROTONER™ unit, Leg Extension Unit, Jumping Stretching Board, and GYROTONIC® Level 2 Programs. She is also a Specialized International Master Trainer for GYROKINESIS® programs including Happy Moves, Lotus Blossom 1 & 2, and Breathing Intensive.

Dana has presented nationally and internationally on the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® method, including presentations at the International Association for Dance Medicine & Science (IADMS) Conference in 2007, 2012, and 2017, as well as at numerous Pilates and fitness conferences.

Alongside her extensive GYROTONIC®and GYROKINESIS® background, Dana has a strong foundation in Pilates. She is certified through Polestar Pilates as a Post-Rehabilitation Instructor, as well as through the Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA) and PhysicalMind Institute in Mat and Standing Pilates. She also holds a Certificate IV and Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology. Supporting her instructor education work, Dana holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in Australia.

Dana’s commitment to movement education extends into the field of exercise science and rehabilitation. She completed postgraduate studies in Exercise Science Rehabilitation at Charles Sturt University in 2011 after beginning a Master’s Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2010. She has been an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist with Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) for over 13 years.

Today, Dana’s focus remains on sharing, preserving, and evolving the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods through instructor education worldwide. When in Australia, based between Melbourne and New South Wales, she continues to mentor instructors, support their professional development, and deepen their understanding of the methods. She also maintains a limited clinical practice as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, working with clients where her expertise can help improve movement, function, and quality of life.
