Dana Rader

Training with Dana Rader you can be sure that you are training with one of the most qualified and talented professionals in the industry. Dana Rader is the sole director and owner operator of GYROTONIC® Melbourne and Energy Kinetics Instructor Training Pty Ltd.

Dana is a Specialized GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® International Master Trainer. Dana was exposed to both methods in the 1990's when she was living in Hong Kong and had the privilege of learning directly with the founder of the methods; Mr. Juliu Horvath.  She continued to train with Mr. Horvath over the years as well as with many other amazing master trainers such as; Adrianna Thompson, Lisa Marie Goodwin, Sebastian Plettenberg, Debra Rose, Juergen Bamberger and Angela Crowley to name only a few.

She established the first studio to incorporate Pilates and GYROTONIC® in Australia in 2002. She is credited with introducing the GYROTONIC® method to Australia in 2000 and  GYROKINESIS® method in 2001. She  became the first master trainer in both methods in Australia, therefore training many of the instructors in Australia and New Zealand as well as around the world. She continues to travel extensively offering GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® instructor trainings in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Central America.

Dana is also a GYROTONIC® International Master Trainer for the GYROTONER™ unit, the Leg Extension Unit, the Jumping Stretching Board and GYROTONIC® Level 2 Programs.

Dana has presented internationally and nationally on the GYROKINESIS® exercise method at the IADMS conference in 2007, 2012, and 2017 in addition to presenting at several Pilates and Fitness conferences.

Dana is trained in Pilates and is certified by Polestar as a Post-Rehab Instructor,  Australian Pilates Method Association (APMA), and Physical Mind Method in Mat and Standing Pilates. Dana also holds a certificate IV and a Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology. Applicable to her instructor training courses Dana holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment in Australia.

Dana enrolled in a Master's Degree of Clinical Exercise Physiology in 2010, completed a Post Graduate degree in Exercise Science Rehabilitation at Charles Sturt University in 2011, and has recently celebrated 10 years as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist and Exercise Scientist with ESSA (Exercise Sport Science Australia).

Jodie McGuinness

Jodie McGuinness has been practicing the GYROTONIC® method for 20 years in Melbourne. Jodie was Dana’s first Australian client in the GYROTONIC® method and the first person in Australia to practice the GYROTONIC® method. After studying with Dana Rader as her Master Trainer, Jodie became a certified Level 1 GYROTONIC® instructor in 2005 and has since been certified as a Level 2 GYROTONIC® instructor. Jodie is also certified and teaches on all specialized equipment, including the Jumping Stretching Board, GYROTONER® and Leg Extension Unit. She brings her personal experience with the method into her teaching and enjoys working with pre-natal, post natal women, as well as all new mums.

Katja

Katja Povse

Katja is a movement teacher and visual artist, fascinated by the mind-body connection and the science of neuro-plasticity. She is a certified instructor in the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® method as well as in specialised equipment. She is also an authorized Pre-trainer in the GYROTONIC® method under Master Trainer Dana Rader. She is detail-oriented and loves to work with people of all ages and capabilities.

Weichen Cui

Weichen Cui

Weichen Cui 崔未尘 is an international movement artist. She recently graduated from New York University with a department award, receiving an M.F.A. in dance from Tisch and an M.A. in dance education from Steinhardt School.

Originally from China, Weichen earned her first bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Fudan University in Shanghai. She moved to Australia in 2015 and started her career as a dancer and choreographer. She graduated from Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne, with a B.F.A. in Dance.

Weichen began practicing the GYROTONIC® method with Master Trainer Dana Rader in 2017 and became an instructor in 2020. She continued her study in the U.S. and completed certifications in Level 2 GYROTONIC®, Level 1 GYROKINESIS® Jumping-Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit, GYROTONER™, Level 1 Archway, GYROTONIC®Application for Dancers 1&2 with Master Trainers including Miriam Barbosa, Billy Macagnone, Debra Rose, Juergen Bamberger, Patricia Stewart, and Naoko Robbins.

Weichen is committed to embodied and academic research in somatic practice and dance science. She also holds certifications in teaching Franklin Method, Yoga, Pilates, and PBT and is becoming a CMA in Laban/Bartenieff Movement Studies at LIMS®.

 

Betty

Betty Townsley

Betty Townsley began practicing the GYROTONIC® method In Santa Monica, CA. in 2012 and initially trained with Specialized International Master Trainer Sebastian Plettenberg. Betty has continued on her journey in both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods over the past 5 years  with International Master Trainer Dana Rader in Melbourne, Australia. She is currently a level 1 certified instructor as well as an authorized pretrainer in both GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods. She has completed certifications in Level 2 GYROTONIC®, Jumping-Stretching Board, Leg Extension Unit, GYROTONER™, Level 1 Archway, as well as many specialized courses in the GYROTONIC® method.

We are fortunate to have her back with us again teaching at GYROTONIC® Melbourne in 2023.

 

 

Bell2

Bell Shen

Bell Shen is a certified GYROTONIC® instructor, dancer, and ballet teacher. She received her classical ballet training in Melbourne, Australia, and Montreal, Canada. While studying at L’ecole Superieure de Ballet du Quebec, she performed with Montreal Ballet Ouest, and toured around Quebec.

Bell first fell in love with the GYROTONIC® method when she found it released her chronic lower back pain and regained the range of motion in her thoracic spine. Combining ballet teaching with the GYROTONIC® method, she witnessed a lot of students loving this method and reaping the benefits.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition Sciences, Bell aspires to integrate her diverse expertise to help individuals find ease and confidence in their bodies through movement.

During her free time, Bell loves to explore different types of sports including weight training, figure skating, and bouldering.

Kelly is a Women’s Health physiotherapist, she graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2009 and completed her postgraduate qualifications in Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation at the University of Melbourne in 2015. She has been working in both the private and public sectors. Currently she is working as a senior women’s health physiotherapist in one of the public hospitals in Melbourne.

Kelly heard about the GYROTONIC® exercise method from one of her friends in Hong Kong and since then she had been curious about this method. After trying the GYROTONIC® method herself, she immediately fell in love with it and continued to pursue her journey to become a GYROTONIC® method instructor. She is currently training under International Specialized Master Trainer Dana Rader.

During her free time, Kelly loves spending time with her family and friends. Her newest goals are to master the skill of snowboarding and the teaching of the GYROTONIC® method.

 

Tiffany Zhu moved to Australia from China 20 years ago. She completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of Melbourne in 2011 and a Masters Degree of Public Relations from the University of Sydney in 2013.

Tiffany first explored the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods several years ago for her own interest as well as to recover from a serious skiing injury she incurred in 2021. She was attracted to the methods by the comprehensive multi-dimensional training the systems offered. She enjoys the movement both methods offer immensely, and hopes to share her passion for the methods with others.

Tiffany has been studying extensively the past 3 years both the GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® methods with Specialized International Master Trainer Dana Rader in Melbourne, Australia.

Tiffany is a passionate and patient instructor. In her free time TIffiany loves to travel the world and enjoys skiing in different countries during their snow season.
